Objectives of the study program

The educational objectives of the doctoral study program are in line with modern trends of education worldwide, as well as with the needs of our society. They arise as a result of the objective perception of the state of requirements for providing staff with the highest level of education in the field of physical education and sport.
The Faculty of Sport and Physical Education organizes doctoral studies in order to: enable a comprehensive perception and understanding of the research process, especially scientific research methods of physical exercise in the field of physical education, sports and recreation from the aspect of its interdisciplinarity

The Faculty of Sport and Physical Education organizes doctoral studies in order to: enable a comprehensive perception and understanding of the research process, especially scientific research methods of physical exercise in the field of physical education, sports and recreation from the aspect of its interdisciplinarity (social sciences, the humanities and other borderline scientific disciplines); development of the scientific field of physical education and sport, and improvement of scientific research and professional work. The objective of doctoral studies is to provide the acquisition of certain fundamental theoretical and especially practical, applicable knowledge, use of relevant research methods and techniques, training students to stay updated on the modern literature, use of databases, use of modern equipment required for scientific research, introduction to modern information and communication technologies, interpretation of research results and development of critical thinking.

The study program trains staff to independently conduct original scientific research and develop new technologies and to perform independent scientific work in accordance with the highest professional and ethical standards.

By way of attending classes, through research work, and by publishing the results of their work, students will have the opportunity to communicate with the corresponding institutions, dealing with the same or similar matters, both national and international.

The objectives of the doctoral study program are coordinated with contemporary research directions in the social sciences, the humanities and the scientific field of physical education and sports, and are also in accordance with the basic tasks and objectives of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education.
