Curriculum 2014/15 onwards - Master academic studies
The study program of Master academic studies of Physical education and sport aims at formation of a competent and independent expert, in accordance with modern global trends in education and by respecting the requirements of processes which are the pillars of modern education. The objectives of the program resulted from the perception of the position of science and profession in the country, as well as from the need to provide scientific and professional staff in the field of physical education and sport.
Upon completion of the study program of Master academic studies of Physical Education and Sport, students will be trained to work in the following fields:

The objectives of the program resulted from the perception of the position of science and profession in the country, as well as from the need to provide scientific and professional staff in the field of physical education and sport.
Upon completion of the study program of Master academic studies of Physical Education and Sport, students will be trained to work in the following fields:

  • The system of education – Physical education (teaching and extra-curricular activities) at all levels of education, as well as in all institutions dealing with physical education;
  • Scientific institutions, institution for managing, monitoring and development;
  • Sport (theory and technology of the selected sport, general jobs within the sport system);
  • Recreation / sports recreation (organization and technology in the process of recreation);
  • Research institutions and all related institutions dealing with development, management and control in the field of sport,, in accordance with the degree awarded upon completion of the Basic academic studies.

Upon completion of this study program, students acquire the professional title of Master – Professor of physical education and sport.

The admission requirements for the study program are prescribed by the Law on Higher Education, Statute of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education and special eligibility criteria. All persons with completed basic academic studies and accumulated not less then 240 ECTS credits can apply for admission.

The study program consists of 5 obligatory courses (4 one-semester and 1 two-semester ones), 12 elective courses and the graduate thesis.

The program realization is specific for the study of physical education, sport and recreation. The classes are held in the Faculty facilities; but a part of teaching activities (practical exercises and professional practice) is also held in sports clubs, schools, representative selections, as well as in other institutions the Faculty cooperate with. This study program provides further knowledge of analytics and diagnostics of processes studied within certain courses.
Besides acquisition of practical knowledge and skills, this study program focuses on education and training of students for independent practical work in educational and research institutions, as well as in institutions dealing with development, management and control in the field of sport. Professional and pedagogical practice is organized in schools, sports clubs, or in other institutions the Faculty cooperates with.
The length of this cycle of the study program is one year (2 semesters) with the total workload of 60 ECTS credits.
Each course in the study program is expressed by the number of ECTS credits, and the scope of study is expressed by the sum of ECTS credits. An academic year is made up of 60 ECTS credits which correspond to the average total workload of a student during a 40-hour workweek; a student should accumulate 30 ECTS credits in each semester of an academic year.
The graduate thesis of the study program of master academic studies is allocated 12 ECTS credits share.

To register for some courses you have to gain a defined minimum of the completed examination prerequisites in the previous semester courses.

A student of another faculty is entitled to move to the study program of Physical Education and Sport under the conditions prescribed by applicable law, Statute and the Faculty Rulebook on the content, measures and organization of the Master academic studies.
